Taxation

We offer a wide range of tax services including tax planning, IRS and NYS tax collection resolutions, IRS and NYS audit representation and tax preparation.

We are experienced in full-service tax planning for clients ranging from individuals to business entities and fiduciaries.  We have assisted many clients in connection with tax planning associated with 1031 exchange transactions, capital gains transactions, business succession planning, adjusted basis step-up and estate tax, gift tax and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax and charitable gifting.

Obtaining legal counsel to aid you in navigating through the IRS or NYS tax collection process is an important first step in getting clear of the stress and financial strain that past tax liabilities can cause.  We are experienced in negotiating settlements of outstanding tax balances and penalties via the Offer in Compromise process for eligible persons.  For those that are not Offer in Compromise candidates, we are experienced in negotiating installment payment plans on affordable terms.

In the event that you receive a dreaded tax examination notice, we are experienced in representing taxpayers for IRS and NYS audits.  We are prepared to fully utilize all available administrative remedies in obtaining the most favorable outcome for our clients including Petitions to United States Tax Court and NYS Tax Appeals Tribunal.

We also offer tax preparation services including individual, trust, corporation, partnership, gift and estate tax returns and consultation services in connection with the preparation of those tax returns.

Estate
Administration

The loss of a loved, in and of itself, is a harrowing experience.  Coupled with the prospect of having to wind down the Decedent’s personal affairs and to identify, collect, manage and ultimately distribute Estate assets, it can be downright daunting.  We can assist you in determining what, if any, Court filings are required in connection with the Estate and to aid you in navigating through the probate/administration process, if required, as well as in identifying and collecting probate and non/probate assets, and in the preparation of any required tax filings for the Decedent and the Estate.
